TV Pilots For 7/30/13: Jay Roach & Annette Bening Teaming For ‘The Third Coast’ Pilot

Flash Network: CW Production Company: Warner Bros. Television Executive Producer: Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti (showrunner) Logline: Based on the DC character who possesses "super-speed" or an ability to run and move extremely fast and use superhuman reflexes. Details: Planned as a spinoff of the CW series Arrow. Pilot will air during an episode of Arrow this upcoming season. SSN Insight: CW’s Vampire Diaries already has a spin-off this year called The Originals and a spin-off for Supernatural is in the development stages. The Third Coast Executive Producers: Jay Roach, Paul Rudnick, John S. Lyons Logline: Revolves around a larger-than-life casting director in New Mexico. SSN Insight: Though Jay Roach has a two-year deal with HBO, the project hasn’t formally been presented yet. Jay Roach won Emmy’s for directing HBO’s Recount and Game Change last year. Plymouth Network: NBC Production Companies: Mark Burnett Productions, Little Engine Executive Producers: Mark Burnett, Anne Thomopoulos, Gina Matthews, Grant Scharbo Logline: Examines the challenges and drama of the Pilgrims’ journey across the Atlantic and the difficulties of settling in a new country. SSN Insight: This is a limited event series. Burnett is also developing a sequel to The Bible entitled AD: After The Bible at NBC. HBO/ Untitled High School Project Network: HBO SSN Insight: Danny McBride and Jody Hill, creators of the new project, are in their final season of HBO’s Eastbound & Down, which they also created. ABC / Jason Katims / Sarah Watson / Law Firm Romantic Comedy Pilot Network: ABC Production Company: True Jack Productions Executive Producers: Jason Katims, Sarah Watson, Michelle Lee Logline: A twisted romantic comedy set in a Chicago law firm. SSN Insight: Project was bought by FOX last year after a competitive situation with ABC and NBC. After the project didn’t go, FOX released it and ABC is now redeveloping it to fit their network. All American Woman Network: WEtv Production Company: Depth of Field Executive Producers: Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz, Andrew Miano, Josann McGibbon, Sara Parriott, Jenni Ross (co-executive producer) Logline: Series that follows three women in three different time periods who all work at a women's style magazine. Details: Based on the experiences of writer Jenni Ross' mother as a fashion editor at Seventeen Magazine in the 1970’s. SSN Insight: Project was previously in development at Bravo. Dirty Network: WEtv Production Company: Fox Television Studios Executive Producer: R.J. Cutler Logline: Revolves around a financier who has fallen on hard times and is forced to live and work with her housekeeper, in an unexpected and clever enterprise. Headhunters Network: WEtv Executive Producers: Tom Fontana, Barry Levinson Logline: Centers on generations of women who are being encouraged to "lean in" in new and innovative ways and examines their attempts to confront the ambiguity and conflicting choices that surround their lives today. Happyland Network: MTV Production Company: Storyline Entertainment Executive Producers: Craig Zadan, Neil Meron Logline: Living in a theme park may seem like a fairy tale, but for 16-year-old Lucy, it's an overly-sanitized, not completely real place where dreams don't necessarily come true. Faking It Network: MTV Executive Producer: Carter Covington Logline: High school is one big social hierarchy and Amy and her best friend, Karma, are teetering at the bottom -- until suddenly, and quite erroneously, everyone is led to believe they are lesbian lovers.
