Logline: A modern retelling of the classic story finds Ichabod Crane teaming with Sheriff Abbie Mills of small town Sleepy Hollow to solve supernatural mysteries.
SSN Insight: This show is crazy fun and unlike anything FOX has served up recently. They throw a lot of stuff into the mix, which works to its advantage. There are big elements of the Washington Irving story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with the Headless Horseman, Ichabod Crane resurrected from a tomb, and then even more supernatural stuff! Luckily, there are also two solid actors in Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie leading the show. The show is a nutty wild ride and it adds up to a show that makes you say, “What just happened?” which could translate to lots of viewers.
Kurtzman and Orci created the wonderfully addictive cult hit Fringe for FOX which bodes well for this show as they excel at combining disparate aspects into stories. Mark Goffman (Elementary) is on board as showrunner and we bet he’ll have fun with the show’s eccentric, eclectic stories and breakneck pacing.
